We promote cultural exchange, education and social discourse
We foster bilateral cultural exchange programs between Germany and Ghana. We initiate film series, exhibitions, concerts, seminars and festivals, always with the goal to facilitate artistic production, reception and reflection involving actors from both countries.
Goethe-Institut Ghana offers visual artists resident in Ghana and working in the area of painting, sculpture, textile, photography and installation an opportunity to exhibit their works at the premises of the Institut each year.
In 2022, the Goethe-Institut Ghana started a series of talks called "Blind Dates", which strengthens the cultural exchange between Ghana and Germany by controversially discussing current topics that are valued differently in the two countries.
Artists from 14 African countries meet in workshops and create a new (comic) world together! Discover new perspectives, learn more about African comic art in videos and follow the creation of new stories!
Goethe-Institut and documenta archiv |documenta und Museum Fridericianum GmbH will be awarding two fellowships to international scholars, artists, and curators taking place from April 2024 to September 2024. This call for applications is particularly extended to researchers from contexts which have received scarce representation in the local artistic and academic scene.
