Join us for online info sessions, where the Goethe-Institute will provide detailed insights about the Call for production grants for independent media and media organisations in the Western Balkans. The sessions will help potential applicants to better understand the requirements of the call and the application process.

Both, the group and individual online informative sessions with potential applicants will be held via Microsoft Teams on the following dates:
  • First Group Online Informative Session: 16 October 2024 at 11:00 (CET). To register, please fill in this online form. The deadline for registration is 15 October 2024, 23:59 CET.
  • Individual Online Informative Sessions: Scheduled from 28 October to 01 November 2024, 10:00 – 16:00 CET. Please register at least 24 hours before your preferred date via this online form.
  • Second Group Online Informative Session: 6 November 2024, 11:00 CET. The deadline for registration is 5 November, 2024, 23:59 CET. Please register at least 24 hours before your preferred date via this online form.
About the grants:
The primary aim of these grants is to support independent media outlets/media organisations in the Western Balkans region promoting pluralism of expression, strengthening their cooperation with the Western Balkan Public Service Media (PSM) and improving audience-relevant reporting. Prioritized in close cooperation with Western Balkan PSM, topics of regional public interest include (but are not limited to): cultural exchange and dialogue, education, rule of law, good governance, human, economic and social rights (including vulnerable groups), gender, investigating environmental issues, Western Balkans’ progress on the EU integration path, etc.

About the Innovation. Media. Minds. Program:
Funded by the European Union, the Innovation. Media. Minds. (IMM): Support to the Public Service Journalism in the Western Balkans Program, is managed by the Goethe-Institut on behalf of the European Commission and in collaboration with its implementing partner DW Akademie.

The Program focuses on public service broadcasters by aiming to enhance content and engage audiences. Implemented from 2023 to 2026, Program’s estimated results include improved management skills, internal structures, workflows of PSMs, along with producing enhanced programming and content that serve public interest. Media professionals are expected to improve their skills and innovation techniques, while special focus is given to young journalists, multipliers and trainers, quality journalism and audience involvement. The Program also aims to enhance engagement, expand cooperation and networking capacity of public service media (PSM).
