OMM – Odunpazarı Modern Museum

As OMM – Odunpazarı Modern Museum, our goal is to function as an intercultural gateway by exhibiting contemporary works by Turkish and international artists with a universal perspective, while also fulfilling our duty of preserving, exhibiting, and expanding our collection.
Our aim is to become an intersection point for art by promoting, exhibiting, and supporting the works of established and up-and-coming artists. We wish to launch projects that are attuned to the time and sensitive to the changes being experienced by institutions and establishments all over the world, while keeping abreast of contemporary art.
Our dream is to bring people together in Eskişehir, one of the most modern cities in Anatolia, drawing strength from art’s ability to make people ask questions, think, and unite. We set out to familiarise the local community with modern art on a global scale while promoting Eskişehir to the world through the architecture of the museum and the exhibitions included in it.
In implementing this platform, which upholds academic and ethical values, the OMM family believes that arts, culture, and freedom of thought play a critical role in the development of a society. Our goal is to contribute a new voice and perspective to Turkish art with dynamic projects that complement our exhibitions, offering our community new educational opportunities and moving towards a future full of innovation.
We are on our way to becoming a platform that informs the public about local values, captures universal rhythms, talks and listens, nourishes as it produces, and provides visibility to all branches of art – an institution where cultural differences, uncensored dialogue, and varying perspectives are freely expressed.

About the educational department and intergenerational programmes

With OMM Education Programmes, we are transforming our venues, team, and resources so as to provide educational opportunities for everyone, while also making our collection and exhibitions available to the viewers. Throughout the year at OMM, we offer chances for people to learn and experiment with an array of guided tours for art viewers of all ages, artist meet-ups, workshops, seminars, and various activities.

OMM intends to encourage visitors with different areas of interest to discover their motives for coming to the museum, to express themselves through art, and return with new questions and perspectives. One particular aim is to enable children and young adults to acquire the habit of coming to the museum so that they learn to benefit from museums as a place for everyone, understand the importance of recognising and protecting cultural heritage, develop their ability to obtain information by asking the right questions, get acquainted with different disciplines within art, and nurture themselves in a variety of ways to create solutions, ideas, and works of their own. Through the language of art, OMM invites young museum visitors to listen to different ideas while synchronising them with their own knowledge, creativity, and interpretation, which would eventually allow them to express these new ideas in society.

You can find detailed information here about the on-site, online guided tours and experiences offered by the OMM Education Programmes platform, which organises workshops, seminars, guided exhibition tours, and artist meetings for children, teenagers and adults.
