The library has a collection of German and Japanese books with a focus on modern art, culture and lifestyle in Germany. The library also offers board games, picture books and interesting events for children and adults.
The Onleihe is the Goethe-Institut's digital library. Around 20,000 German-language e-books, audio books, films, materials for German learners, magazines and newspapers are available to download from the Onleihe.
We want to make it easier for an international audience to access contemporary German-language literature, non-fiction and books for children and young people. Since its foundation 50 years ago, our funding programme has financially supported the publication of around 7,000 books in 45 languages.
