What are the technical requirements for online classes?

For an optimal learning experience, you need a Windows or Mac desktop computer or laptop. We do not recommend tablets, iPads, smartphones or other mobile equipment for this course, although it is possible to use them. You need a headset with microphone. If you use the built-in speakers and microphone on your laptop, it might cause an echo for the other participants in the online classrooms.

Will I get a certificate at the end of my class?

All students who attend at least 70% of their classes, and (for courses with an online component) complete at least 70% of their assignments will receive a certificate of participation for their course. Also, we prepare and encourage you to sign up for one of our official Goethe-Zertifikat exams, which will provide you with an internationally-recognised certificate to prove your language abilities. In the course "German Online Individual" you can practice reading, writing, speaking and listening in a very flexible way. You determine your pace of learning. Your tutor will give you feedback during the course.

The course takes place on the Goethe-Institut learning platform. Depending on your level, you will also have two to three live sessions in a virtual classroom with your tutor. The online live sessions take place on ZOOM.

Test your german
You would like to attend one of our German courses for the first time, but you can already speak German? In this case you have to take a placement test before enrolling. This test will help us evaluate your German skills, define a learning objective together with you and choose a suitable course for you.
