Goethe-Institut Myanmar has consistently organized a wide range of cultural and contemporary art programs, fostering creative exchanges and collaborations between Myanmar and Germany. These efforts have played a vital role in promoting contemporary art and cultural understanding.
To enhance the contemporary theater and performing arts scene in Myanmar, a Contemporary Theater Workshop is scheduled to take place from January 29 to February 5, 2025. This workshop will be led by Helgard Haug, a co-founder of the renowned German theater collective Rimini Protokoll, who has been specially invited for this initiative.
The workshop will also feature participation from Myanmar’s Thukhuma Khayeethe, FXB Myanmar, Maung Day, Thyitar, as well as other invited contemporary theater groups and artists.
Following the workshop, collaboratively created theatrical tryout will be presented to the public. We encourage everyone to stay informed for further announcements and updates on the Rimini Protokoll in Myanmar program.
This initiative underscores Goethe-Institut Myanmar’s commitment to nurturing the performing arts and fostering cross-cultural artistic collaboration.
