Wild Kids Academy is organising an Environmental Awareness Expo on the 3rd of November 2023 at Wild Kids Academy Junior Primary in Boma, Katima Mulilo. Proudly supported by Goethe-Institut Namibia and Wild Waters Group of Lodges, this exciting event combines nature awareness and the importance of conservation.
We will explore the delicate balance between humans and wildlife, through the presentation of our creative awareness brochure and an engaging human-wildlife conflict theatre play. Come and immerse yourself in the world of documentaries of the Goethe-Institut Science Film Festival 2023, where you'll discover the ecological restoration initiatives in different countries in the world. This Environmental Awareness Expo is not only a chance to learn, but also an opportunity to appreciate the wonders and gifts of our natural world, making it a must for all environmentally conscious stakeholders, young and old. Don't miss your chance to be part of our meaningful conservation journey!
The Zambezi region of Namibia is a captivating and ecologically diverse landscape, boasting a wealth of natural resources and that is why it has for years been termed as the “Food Basket”. At the same time, it has abundant wildlife. However, within this remarkable coexistence of nature and human communities lies a complex and pressing issue: the human-wildlife conflict. As the region’s population grows and human activities expand, clashes between humans and wildlife have become increasingly prevalent. This conflict poses significant challenges to both the local communities and the conservation efforts aimed at preserving the unique biodiversity of the Zambezi region. With this project we would like to expose learners and local communities to this delicate and crucial matter, seeking to strike a balance between safeguarding human livelihoods and ensuring the longterm survival of the region’s extraordinary wildlife.
