1. Terms of Payment
1.1. The course fee should be paid in full before the start of the course.
1.2. If the participant becomes unable to attend the course, the fee can be transferred to a later course for an administration fee of $40.
1.3. The contractually binding fee is the fee stated in the price list current at the time of enrolment.
2. Cancellation and refund
2.1. Cancellations must be submitted in writing. The date of cancellation shall be the date of receipt at the Goethe-Institut.
2.2. If the participant becomes unable to attend the course, the fee can be refunded for an administration fee of $40.
2.3. If the course has already started, the Goethe-Institut reserves the right to subtract a proportion of the course fee.
2.4. Any change of scheduled individual or small group tuition must be made no later than 24 hours in advance, otherwise one session must be paid for in full.
3. Course level assignment
3.1. Beginners start at A1.1.
3.2. Placement in other course levels is based on a levels test and placement assessment conducted by the Goethe-Institut.
4. Class size
4.1. Our minimum class size for all group classes is 5 participants. If enrolments are insufficient on the starting date, we reserve the right to cancel or reduce the contact hours.
4.2. Our ideal course maximum in Wellington is 18 participants.
4.3. Our ideal course maximum in Auckland is 14 participants.
4.4. Our ideal course maximum online is 16.
5. Responsibilities of participants
Participants are obliged to comply with the course rules and house rules applicable to the Goethe-Institut.
6. Liability of the Goethe-Institut
The liability of the Goethe-Institut and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. The Goethe-Institut also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to the forces of nature (e.g. natural disasters, pandemics, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
