General Requirements
Course participants must be at least 16 years of age for an adult course and 12-15 years of age for a youth course upon the start of the class. Groups courses normally start at the beginning of the course term. The Goethe-Institut Philippinen has (6) six to (7) seven intakes per year. Individual courses can start anytime. However, to organize the course smoothly, the general preparation time is approximately (3) three weeks.
1. Terms of Payment 1.1 Course fees are paid in full upon registration. 1.2 Registration is on a first paid, first served basis. Reservations are strictly not accepted. For Individual courses, an amount of at least (10) ten teaching units must be booked and paid before starting the course.
2. Course fees 2.1 The contractually binding fee is the fee stated in the price list current at the time of application. 2.2 Should a participant wish to change his or her booking, then each booking change is subject to a fee equal to 10% the course fee. 2.3 Booking changes are only allowed up to five (5) working days before the start of the course.
3. Cancellation and refunds
The following conditions apply if the course participant is unable to take part in the course: 3.1 In case of cancellation at least five (5) working days before the start of the course, Goethe-Institut Philippinen will withhold 50% of the course fee that will be refunded to the student. Textbooks are non-refundable. 3.2 In case of late cancellation, non-appearance or leaving the course once it is underway, the participants are not entitled to any refund. 3.3 Cancellations must be submitted in writing with reason and must be accompanied by the original receipt. The date of cancellation shall be the date of receipt at the Goethe-Institut Philippinen office.
4. Course level assignment/class size 4.1 Placement in course levels is based on the placement test conducted at the Goethe-Institut Philippinen. A schedule for a placement test will be arranged by the Language Course Office at a fee of PHP 1000. If the previous course was taken a year ago, Goethe Institut Philippines allows the right to require another Placement test in order to enroll to a higher level course. 4.2 Goethe-Institut Philippinen reserves the right to amend or postpone its courses and change course details such as fees, times, materials, rooms and instructors in case of inclement weather for the safety of our students. 4.3 The required minimum number of students per class is 12 persons. Students may move to another course schedule or receive a full refund should the course be cancelled. This term is not applicable for individual courses. 4.4 All teachers receive standardized training procedures to ensure consistency in education delivery. We do not allow the choosing of teachers. Students are expected to adhere to this policy to maintain effectiveness of the education system.
5. Responsibilities of participants
Participants are obliged to comply with the course rules and regulations applicable to the Goethe-Institut Philippinen. This means that they are on time when classes start, concentrate on classes, contribute actively to the learning process and refrain from disturbing the learning process by diverting the attention of other students. This implies that participants dress in an appropriate way during classes according to the norms which apply to public spaces. This covers also courses which take place in the digital environment and covers both profile pictures and live-pictures of participants.
Students should attend classes in a private setting where Participants can focus without distractions. This practice helps maintain the integrity of our online learning environment and ensures that all enrolled students receive the intended educational experience. Additionally, students are not allowed to share lessons or class access with individuals who are not officially enrolled in the course. Requirements for Online Courses

Students must be able to abide by the technical requirements asked of them. We do not allow the use of mobile phones.
For individual courses, it is the student´s responsibility to outline learning goals to establish a tailor-made schedule by the teacher.
6. Liability of the Goethe-Institut
The liability of Goethe-Institut Philippinen and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. Goethe-Institut Philippinen also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeure, e.g. natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contracting parties.

Exam fees 2.1 The contractually binding fee is the fee stated in the price list current at the time of application. 2.2 The internal exam price will be charged if the client has attended a course at Goethe-Institut Manila within 6 months, after that the external price will apply. 2.3 Should a participant wish to change his or her booking, then each booking change is subject to a fee equal to 10% of the exam fee. 2.4 Booking changes are only allowed up to five (5) working days before the start of the exam.
3. Cancellation and refunds 3.1 Cancellations and refunds are only allowed up to five (5) working days before the start of the exam. 3.2 If a candidate does not appear in either the written or oral exam or arrives late for an exam, he/she shall be excluded from the exam. The exam fee will not be refunded. No results shall be published. 3.3 If an exam is not taken for reasons of illness, the exam center must be informed as soon as possible and a doctor’s certificate should be submitted to the exam center within 5 working days. The exam fee will be credited for the next exam date. A 10% processing fee shall be charged.
4. Requirements 4.1 Exam participants must be at least 16 years of age if they are registering for any of the following exams: Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1, Goethe-Zertifikat A2, Goethe-Zertifikat B1, Goethe-Zertifikat B2 4.2 Exam participants for the Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Fit in Deutsch must be between 10 to 16 years old. 4.3 All candidates are required to present proof of identification before the written and oral exams. We only accept the following IDs: - passport - NBI Clearance - UMID - National ID - PRC ID - Driver's license.
5. Responsibilities of participants 5.1 Participants are obliged to comply with the rules and regulations applicable to the Goethe-Institut Philippinen. This implies that participants dress in an appropriate way during exams according to the norms which apply to public spaces. 5.2 Participants should surrender all eletronice devices (mobile phones, laptops, digital watches, tablets, etc) to the Goethe Institut staff before their exam begins. Goethe Institut Manila will not be held liable for any damage or loss that may occur.

Exam Discount for Goethe Students
If you're enrolled in one of courses for the last 6 months, you are entitled for a discounted fee in our exams! Check the INTERNAL fee in our price list to know the discounted for the exam level you wish to take.
