Ana-Maria Ciobanu
Ana Maria Ciobanu has been writing for DoR (Decât o Revistă) since 2011, focusing on topics such as identity, social inequality, child welfare reform, civic victories, domestic violence, extreme poverty, racism.
In 2015 she was an ARC Fellow for journalism on philanthropy and documented a story about an informal group of donors trying to help a young mother lift herself out of poverty. Thus was born in 2017, "The Village of Mădălina" podcast - a six-episode audio series about love, poverty and the costs of altruism.
In January 2022, she launched the podcast "Obiceiul Pământului", an audio series about the memory and influence of 500 years of Roma slavery on the present.
She teaches courses on personal writing and narrative journalism at the Calea Victoriei Foundation and at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences in Bucharest.
