Cello concert by Theo Bross

We would like to thank the many visitors to Theo Bross's solo concert at the beginning of last month.

The various suites by Bach, performed to perfection on the cello, delighted our international audience, as did the solo pieces by composers born later. The German musician gave an impressive performance and managed to capture the essence of Bach's music in a unique way. We would like to once again thank Theo Bross for this extraordinary evening.

"U SPEAK LIVE" Slam performance

The first event of the “U-SPEAK Live” initiative was a full success and we would like to thank all the participants who put their heart and soul into its creation. In addition to individually performed poems by various artists, the poetic creation “A Tale of Redemption” was premiered. It reflected the transformative power and resilience of the Rwandan people after 30 years since the genocide against the Tutsi.

Follow the initiative if you would like to be informed about the monthly events or if you are interested in reciting poetry yourself.

Masterclass for filmmakers

The German and Swiss filmmakers Anja Reiss and Jann Andregg were in Kigali to privately screen their interactive movie "Traces of Responsibilities" for both protagonists and official representatives. Additionally, they created a masterclass workshop for local filmmakers together with Amanda Akaliza.

The workshop included the producer etiquette, film production, structured idea pitching, fundraising options and techniques, and the differences between low-budget and high-quality productions. The participants were both experienced as well as less experienced filmmakers and were glad to have received valuable input and opportunities to network with people in and outside of Kigali.

"Bodies Unbound" Theater

The extended version of “BODIES UNBOUND” was an emotional and moving event to both the artists and the audience. The dance and theater production by Winnie Ange and with Eya Khalifa as choreographer addresses the many challenges that women face in their everyday lives. With poetry by Delah Dube and impressive dance performances by Souzy Lukoom, Zulfat Umujawimana and Winnie Ange herself, the strength of the female body and spirit was presented to the audience in a moving way.

We would like to thank the artists for this outstanding performance and wish them all the best for their upcoming performances in Goma and Brussels.
