Students who have qualified at A2, B1 or B2 level in a Nationale Deutscholympiade (NDO), or any other accredited national selection procedure, are eligible to participate.
Participants must be at least 14 years old and a maximum of 17 years old.
Two students per country can take part. It is possible for participants to qualify at different levels or at the same level.
The following persons are not eligible to take part in the IDO- FOR REASONS OF FAIRNESS:
- Students whose mother tongue is German or who have at least one native German-speaking parent.
- Students who, after the age of three have lived for more than six months at a time in a German-speaking country.
- Students at German schools abroad or private schools whose principal language of instruction and communication is German.
- Students who have already been awarded a language scholarship for Germany in 2024
- Students already enrolled to study at a university.
- Pupils who are already 18 years or older.
Incorrect information about the students will lead to disqualification or withdrawal of titles.
