27TH German Film Festival x KinoFest 2024 | 17 October- 03 November | Singapore © Felix Pflieger

Goethe-Institut Singapore is proud to present the 27th German Film Festival, one of the longest-running foreign film festivals in Singapore. This year, we’re proud to present a selection showcasing the breadth and diversity of German cinema—from contemporary features to celebrated classics, a much-loved childhood adaptation, and a brand new short film programme.

All manner of cinema speaks of encounter, transporting us preciously—and sometimes precariously, through the lives, worlds, and eyes of others. We invite you to have an encounter with us.

SPARKLING, WILD AND CALM: FILMS FROM KURZFILM FESTIVAL HAMBURG

Co-presented by Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg and Objectifs

Goethe-Institut Singapore is proud to present the 27th German Film Festival, one of the longest-running foreign film festivals in Singapore. This year, for the first time, we expand our notion of German cinema to showcase the art of the short form with brand new short film programmes. Featuring three curated sections from the Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, these themed titles pose questions to pressing contemporary issues, as well as push filmic boundaries through experimentation in form. The programme is also entirely free, and intend to introduce our curious audience to a different perspective on film. All manner of cinema speaks of encounter, transporting us preciously—and sometimes precariously, through the lives, worlds, and eyes of others. We invite you to have an encounter with us.

Free with registration.
