Cultural practitioners and activists found challenges in accessing physical, protected spaces to meet and exchange ideas with other creatives. In 2019, the Goethe-Institut therefore set up the NEXT LEVEL - Art Tech Hub, a public, open and participatory space where the cultural scene can meet a diverse and like-minded people. The network of creatives and cultural players connected and developed projects and co-productions together with high quality and unique technology and equipment. The hub provided them with almost everything needed in the creative process. Workshops and training programes were also held in the hub to further support cultural creation. The opening of the Art-Tech Hub in Khartoum was followed by the opening of the Art-Tech Hub in Al-Fashir and the establishment of the Women's Hub and the Music Hub in Khartoum. Due to the outbreak of war on 15th April 2023, the Hubs were forced to close.
Emad Zakaria, the hub manager is mainly working on providing entrepreneurship consultancies for the start-ups who based in Darfur region, his main activates is on the areas of developing the capacities of the civil society through media consultancies and capacity building programs.

Abdalsalam Alhaj, is a visual artist who works on media production especially storytelling through AR and VR, he is leading the movement of 360 films in Sudan through his film Night Shift that had been filmed during the sit-in of Sudanese revolution.

Tahleel Dafallah
Tahleel Dafallah, the manager of the hub is the main vocalist of Salute Yal Bannot band, it’s an all females band. Beside her work as a vocalist, she is a song writer and music composer.
