Digital Kinderuni

The German Children’s Online University (Kinderuni) is a free educational platform of the Goethe-Institut for children aged 8 to 12. It helps children to find answers to questions about the phenomena of the world, and enables children to learn and play in the German language.

Direct access to the Kinderuni

Any child can sign up for free and start exploring the Kinderuni. Our online platform is freely accessible without charge. If you want to discover the platform on your own, you (and your children) can register right here:

Create an account or log in to the Kinderuni platform

How to: Create an account and use the Kinderuni

All lectures are available free of charge, and are available at any time on our educational platform. You can register with a free parent account to track your child’s progress, or a free teacher account to track multiple students' progress.

Didactic materials

The Kinderuni can be used in the classroom in different contexts and areas of application. We have developed didactic materials for German teachers to accompany each Kinderuni lecture.

CLIL

Foreign language + subject matter teaching = CLIL (Content and language integrated learning), one of the leading methods of modern foreign-language instruction. Individual lectures will be integrable into the CLIL instruction method as supplemental material.

Access for teachers

Teacher accounts enable teachers to track their students' progress in the Kinderuni. The teacher account also provides access to learning scenarios for interactive German lessons with instructions and worksheets that are free to download.
