Transatlantic Outreach Program Germany Today: Virtual Speaker Series
Through a series of virtual speaker sessions, educators will explore themes revolving around the topic "Germany Today." The series will run through each academic year with five speakers each year. Topics will range from discussing American and German election systems to German baking to lesson demonstrations from our TOP alumni. This speaker series is intended for educators hoping to learn more about contemporary Germany and how they can implement new ideas and experiences into their classrooms.
TOP Alum, Kyle Tredinnick, led a hands-on presentation which guided participants through the process of "reading" a cultural landscape through a geographic perspective to gain insight into how photograph analysis can be further implemented into their own classrooms. Recording available on session page. Click to access!
The TOP Team celebrated the holidays with not one but TWO festive recipes and a virtual visit to the Munich Christmas market! Visit the page to see the recordings from the meeting and supporting resources.
Dr. Thomas Greven, Freie Universität Berlin, an expert in U.S. politics and foreign policy, discussed the similarities and differences of the U.S. and German election systems in their current forms in the lead up to the U.S. 2024 Elections in a 60 minute lecture. The lecture was followed Q&A led by TOP alumni. Recording accessible on next page.
