Sara A. Lee
I am a passionate German teacher for all ages and levels. Throughout my career, I have taught everyone from elementary school children to seniors, and every age and stage has its unique fascination. Daring to embark on a journey into a new language and culture always promises an exciting exchange in the classroom.
After my M.A. in elementary teaching from the University of Dortmund, I went to graduate school at Michigan State, where I was introduced to research about learning disabilities in second language acquisition – research that to this day is very dear to my heart and the focus of most of my presentations and workshops. I worked as a dyslexia therapist for several years before I moved to Arizona almost 12 years ago, where I still live with my husband, our daughter, and our puppy. I am teaching at Arizona State University, and love to explore Arizona when I go hiking and camping with my family.
Sara is the 2024 SWCOLT Teacher of the Year and the 2023 Arizona Language Association (AZLA) Teacher of the Year.
