28 July - 1 August 2025
XVIII International German Teachers' Conference (IDT)

The Goethe-Institut USA awards scholarships to attend the XVIII International German Teachers' Conference (IDT) 2025 in Lübeck.

''Vielfalt wagen – mit Deutsch''...
...is the motto of the International Conference of German Teachers (IDT) 2025. In our globalized and complex world, diversity is a prerequisite for the teaching and learning of German as a foreign and second language. This motto is an invitation to further explore the potential of this diversity from a scientific perspective with and at IDT 2025 and to dare to embrace even more diversity in the teaching and learning of German.

NOTICE:

Please note the application period for IDT 2025 stipends ended on June 30, 2024.

Scholarship information

Please note that we cannot accept IDT scholarship applications for 2025 after the application period has ended on 30 June 2024.

PROGRAM

The motto of IDT 2025 in Lübeck is “Daring diversity - with German”. Accordingly, the aim of all event formats at IDT 2025 is to address issues arising from a greater consideration of diversity in the teaching and learning of German. On the other hand, the subject of German as a foreign language/German as a second language should also become visible in its great diversity, e.g. with regard to its theoretical foundations and research approaches. The subject program is correspondingly diverse. It is divided into formats for which contributions can be submitted and formats in which input and specialist discourse is provided by selected experts.
