Project Space Update

​The Goethe-Institut Los Angeles is proud to announce its new collaboration with Michael Maltzan Architecture (MMA). Together with our headquarters, we have selected MMA to lead the build-out of our future home, a new project space located in the diverse Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, close to MacArthur Park.

The goal is to transform the setting into an interdisciplinary venue for art exhibitions, lectures, performances, film screenings, and other cultural events. MMA's projects cross a wide range of typologies, from housing to city infrastructure. Their experience working with cultural institutions includes projects around the world such as the Hammer Museum, Moody Center for the Arts, Winnipeg Art Gallery Inuit Art Centre, Inner-City Arts, a design center in Chengdu, China, and the Museum of Modern Art. We look forward to working together to transform the space into a new, exciting platform for intercultural exchange and dialogue.
