RPM23 Program 1, 7:00 PM: Illuminations
The RPM23 Program 1: Illuminations, focuses on artists utilizing various digital and analog animation techniques, ranging from cameraless, photogram, Cyanotype, and computer compositing to computer-generated images. This curated program features a collection of 10 recent short experimental films and videos from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the USA, ranging from one minute to 20 minutes. Additionally, the program pays homage to Dadaist, experimental filmmaker, and painter Hans Richter, starting with a rare screening of Richter's Rhythm 23, a 16mm print created 100 years ago.
This program is part of the annual RPM Festival, which celebrates short-form experimental film and video artwork. The festival runs from September 27th to October 1st and will showcase 80 carefully selected pieces from over 500 submissions. This year marks the festival's fifth anniversary in Boston and the 10th year since its inception. For more information on program one, please visit:

Filmmakers Yue Hua and Youjin Moon will be present at the screening. A post-screening Q&A session with independent curator Ariel Hou (CAMlab fas Harvard University) will also take place. RPM23 Program 2, 9:00 PM: Recollections
Program 2 of RPM23, titled "Recollection," showcases nine short experimental films that draw inspiration from memory, archive materials, and the filmmakers' internal anxiety and nightmares. Filmmakers from seven different countries (Argentina, Finland, Italy, Germany, Hungary, UK, and USA) have contributed their works to this program. The production formats of these films range from VHS, 8mm, super 8, and 16mm to paper collage and the most current digital media.
The
