Since 2015, the Arbeitskreis Deutscher Internationaler Residenzprogramme (short: ADIR, i.e.: Working Group of German International Residency Programmes) has provided cultural institutions with a platform where they can discuss the development of residency programmes and coordinate cultural and political affairs. ADIR raises public awareness of the opportunities of residency work.
Member institutions of ADIR promote this vision. Their residents are selected by experts. Artists-in-residence are offered appropriate accommodation and financial support. Member institutions of the Working Group have existed for at least two years. Admission to ADIR is decided by majority vote.
