An "African" Comic Strip: Utopia or Reality?

Cameroonian artist Paul-Ivan Adjembe focuses on the relationship between comics and the African continent. Outstandingly in the last few years, the African comics scene has undergone an enormous development and can now boast of festivals and initiatives all over Africa. In Cameroon, the comics boom came in the 1950s through local magazines, which increasingly turned to the creation of albums. Later, artist collectives emerged and further developed the scene. Another crucial point in the development is the global stylistic influence that is undeniable in African comics.
