Democratic Republic of Congo
The new dynamics of Congolese comics
The experienced artist Mola Boyika describes his profound personal experiences in the Congolese comic world, as well as his advanced career as a comic artist with his publications. In addition, he provides the audience with an insight into the comic scene in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which began in the 1950s. Many of the artists and their comics are not only considered forerunners of modern Congolese comics but also remain personal inspirations for Mola Boyika. Finally, one of the few female comics artists Santa Kakese offers an insight into her entry into the comics scene and introduces her publications M'Fumu Buku and 207, as well as the collective New Dynamik.
