Here in Finland, we have a very big advantage in learning German: the multilingualism surrounding us with Finnish, Swedish, English and other languages. The teaching material "Tasse oder Tasche Kaffee?! - German kontrastiv-mehrsprachig in der Oberstufe" takes advantage of this: students develop their multilingual learning strategies and learn to use them consciously; they expand their own linguistic resources and discover the differences and similarities in the "ways of thinking" of their languages.
The short chapters in this book are easy to use individually and selectively, complementing Finnish upper-level German textbooks from beginner (A1) to advanced (B2) levels. They cover topics in pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and usage that are particularly suitable for multilingual acquisition or deserve special attention as typical Finnish-German/multilingual differences.
