One day on his way home, Daniel, a stuffy teacher, meets Juli, a somewhat quirky jewelry saleswoman and bon vivant, who - astonishingly - promptly falls in love with him. Juli sells him a mysterious ring, with a sun as a symbol, which is supposed to lead him to the woman of his life, i.e. to her. But Daniel has no idea of Juli's plans for the future and falls in love with the beautiful Melek at a party. Head over heels, he sets off the next day from Hamburg to Istanbul to see Melek again. But as luck would have it, on his journey through the wilds of Eastern Europe, he keeps running into Juli in the most unusual places. But by the time Daniel finally realizes that it's not Melek, but his sometimes annoying travel companion Juli, for whom he has walked thousands of miles, crossed rivers and moved mountains, it almost seems too late.
