Description

German lessons can be made interactive through the use of comics. The video tutorials "Comics drawing course" and the comics anthology "Super heroes make super projects" are available for this purpose.

THE COMICS ANTHOLOGY "SUPER HEROES MAKE SUPER PROJECTS".

Comic is a narrative medium that can be used to address current social issues and personal ideas, but also global problems and challenges. During the Erasmus+ project "Super heroes make super projects", young people from Greece, Croatia, Romania and Serbia, as well as young adults from Germany, developed 7 comic stories that address important issues to raise awareness among others. Both German and English were used in the illustration of their own superheroes.

The following subjects are presented in the 7 stories:
  • loneliness among the elderly / volunteering / new technologies
  • world of work / traffic / environmental protection
  • environmental protection / social networks / online campaign
  • bullying / homelessness / advocacy of weak interests
  • welcoming culture / equal opportunities / environmental protection
  • inclusion / charity / online campaign
  • refugee camp / donation / sports

Introduce the comics anthology to your class, discuss the topics on display and motivate your students to create their own comic stories!

VIDEO TUTORIALS "COMIC DRAWING COURSE"

Here you will find a series of video tutorials designed both for preparation for and use in German lessons to develop comic stories in German with your students. Ferdinand Lutz, comic artist and editor, was commissioned by the Goethe-Institut Athen to create the tutorials. He is the co-founder of the children's comic magazine POLLE, which has been published since 2018. His short film "Stay in Queue" has been shared millions of times on the internet. His comics for young readers ("Q-R-T", "Rosa und Louis") have been published monthly in "Dein SPIEGEL" since 2011 as well as in book form by Reprodukt Verlag since 2015.
