Priscilla Jolly is a PhD candidate at Concordia University. Her research interests include place formations and the subject formation practices enabled by places. Her current project investigates questions of place formation in nineteenth century colonial accounts of expeditions. With a focus on the links between the formation of tropics in nineteenth century literature, contemporary literature and environmental humanities, this project brings together colonial journals , manuals written by colonial physicians and speculative fiction. Her work has appeared in "Postcolonial Text", "ETropic", "The Conversation Canada" and "The Goose".
