Friedel Schmoranzer has been working for the Villa Aurora, an artist residency located in the former home of Lion and Marta Feuchtwanger in Los Angeles since 2011. Since 2020, she has been the head of the fellowship programs there. Lion and Marta Feuchtwanger also owe their timely escape from Europe to the assistance of Varian Fry and the Emergency Rescue Committee.
