Klaus Siewert. Born in Minden / Westphalia in 1954. Studied German language and literature, history, philosophy and education. Doctorate in 1984, habilitation in 1998, lecturer at the University of Münster, professorships at the Universities of Darmstadt and Paderborn. Head of the research organisation “Wörterbuch deutscher Geheimsprachen” (Dictionary of German Secret Languages). Author of books on the German language and its history, on secret and special languages. Founding chairman of the “Internationale Gesellschaft für Sondersprachenforschung” (IGS; International Society for Special Language Research) and the international language and literature prize “Landschreiber-Wettbewerb”. Board member of the „Gesellschaft für deutsche Sprache“ (GfdS, German Language Society). Appointed to the “Pegnesian Order of Flowers” a. 1644 in 2024.
