The German author and migration researcher Mark Terkessidis will speak at the Goethe-Institut in Washington about his concepts of “diversity” and “collaboration” between societies.

As a counter-image to the German “Leitkultur”, he advocates radical intercultural openness and a positive philosophy of cooperation.

He will be in conversation with a counterpart from the USA. A stream of the events will be available.

Further information will follow shortly, as well as the opportunity to register.

Part of the Festival “Longing / Belonging”

Stories of migration characterize our modern societies, in which people from different cultural backgrounds search for belonging. Cultural diversity is celebrated on the one hand, but at the same time new social boundaries are emerging. The Goethe-Institut's “Longing/Belonging” festival presents artistic contributions and social discourses from Germany and North America.
