Won Best Children’s Film at the German Film Awards

The German Film Office is pleased to present Neele Leana Vollmar’s award-winning film The Pasta Detectives (2014) as part of its popular “Kids Kino” series.
Register We recommend this film for children 8 years old and above.

Ten-year-old Rico lives with his mom in Berlin-Kreuzberg. He is a self-described “profoundly gifted” child and prefers to stay close to home because he easily gets lost, though he spots things no one else does. One day, he meets the “highly gifted” eight-year-old Oskar who is also quite cautious and never leaves home without his striped helmet. The two outsiders bond immediately. When Oskar fails to show up one day, Rico’s initial disappointment is replaced with the growing realization that his best friend has been snatched by Mr. 2000, the infamous kidnapper. Rico must use his observation skills to unravel clues that might lead to Oskar’s rescue.

The Pasta Detectives won Best Children’s Film at the German Film Awards, the German Film Critics Association Awards, and the Bavarian Film Awards.
