About the project
Performing Architecture is a program series by the Goethe-Institut on the occasion of the Venice Biennale of Architecture - La Biennale di Venezia. Since 2014, Performing Architecture provides performative thinking spaces for interdisciplinary questions in the interplay of architecture, art, performance, urban development and civil society.
In the interplay with other arts, architecture can be sensually experienced in a new way and shows its current social and political relevance. Performing Architecture uses the extraordinary urban space of Venice as a setting for artistic and discursive discussions, visions and questions. Performing Architecture aims to open up new interdisciplinary spaces of thought and experience, both with local artistic works, experimental performative formats, as well as with discussions and installations - whether in the German Pavilion, in theaters or on streets and squares in Venice.
