Shaame Kombo Hassan is a fisherman and lives with his family in Mtondia in Kilifi County on the Kenyan coast. His great-grandfather came to Mombasa in Kenya from Pemba Island, which is part of the Zanzibar archipelago, in the hope of a better life. Today, Shaame and his family are still fighting for an independent, carefree life.
