Abeer Aref (b.1995 in Sanaa) is a Yemeni artist and architect who uses photography to capture the beauty of everyday moments. Her work has gained recognition for its poignant and intimate portrayal of daily life and emotions. In 2020, she had her first photography showcase called JAMAAD. Her latest work, So Far Away, Yet So Close, explores the feelings of longing and homesickness that come with being separated from loved ones. Her work has been exhibited in various locations, including Sana'a, Dubai, Brooklyn, and Berlin. As an emerging artist, Aref has been featured in several media outlets such as i-D, The New Arab, and the Middle East Eye.
