Streets of Delhi
A Day In My Life

Two Afghan students travel through Delhi on their daily commute. Poetry keeps them company, transforming the mundane sights into something touched with beauty.

Life is perhaps the smile we withhold. It is the pure whisper of life between two silences.

Every day, millions of people travel through the streets of Delhi on their usual commutes. ‘A Day in My Life’ tells the story of two Afghan students, who also make their way using the iconic autos, or through public transport. They traverse crowds and smaller sidestreets, flyovers and Metro stations. Seen from their point of view, the city is in constant motion.

As they move, they read the lines from Persian poet Sohrab Sepehri’s verses titled ‘Zendagi’ or ‘Life’. Part visual portrait of a megacity, and part meditation on a life of displacement, ‘A Day in My Life’ finds music and beauty in our everyday lives.
