Òsányín's Ewé: The Secret of the Leaves

Primary School (9-11 years)

A newborn emerges, unique, with leaves covering her skin. Her mother, concerned for her well-being, embarks on a quest for a cure. Yet, the journey takes a twist when the child enters school. There, her peers, unable to understand or accept her difference, isolate her. Feeling alone and misunderstood, she flees to the sanctuary of the forest. Within this natural refuge, she encounters mystical entities rooted in indigenous and Afro-Brazilian folklore. These beings guide her on a transformative journey, intertwining paths of self-discovery and empowerment. Her wanderings lead her to the presence of Òsányìn, the Orisà revered for his dominion over flora. From him, she learns the vital significance of plants, not only for their healing properties but also for their role in sustaining the environment. This revelation enlightens her to the importance of conservation, teaching her to embrace her identity and the natural world around her.
