In a specially developed planetary model and with a commercially available tape measure, Alexander Gerst takes a measurement of the Earth: how much sunlight does the northern hemisphere get in winter and how much more is it in summer? Storyteller Armin Maiwald also reveals what a gymnastic ball and a blueberry have in common with the sun and the Earth. Indoor studio footage with movements of the celestial bodies flow smoothly into outdoor shots. For this, the mouse team filmed the path of the sun through all four seasons from exactly the same spot on a mountain south of Bonn.
