Our primary concern for Sound of X was to determine what the most important sound in Seoul is and also how to put them into a video and music well. Then we came up with an idea that the most reasonable way is not to describe music with notes but to express the sound with feelings and texture, and this would rather convey the meaning better.

We’re living now by looking at the past. So we recorded sounds in where the past appeared and made music with today's technology.
Behind the scenes
Two Tone Shape is a group of Wooseok Choi, who created its own House Music style through various activities over a long period of time, and Minseop Lee, who is producing UK & French electronic music based sound from Seoul.
Two Tone Shape performances live set with most of their original tracks on the album and new tracks at various venues around Seoul. They show their unique selection as a guest DJ at various parties and through the label party.
When we saw the old small ironworks that still existed between the tall modern buildings in Seoul, we got a different feeling from the familiar images of modernized Seoul. So we wanted to capture the metallic and rusty machine sounds on the streets of ‘Euljiro’ to convey the feeling we felt at that time in contrast to everyday noise.

Concept
Seoul, the capital of Korea, was one of the cities that underwent numerous changes in a short period of time. Only 70 years ago, after the Korean War, Seoul changed very quickly with the nation's economic growth in the process of rebuilding the war-torn country. Because of such rapid changes and developments, some places are still maintaining their old forms inside the city. When we saw the old small ironworks that still existed between the tall modern buildings in Seoul, we got a different feeling from the familiar images of modernized Seoul.
