Carine Souza
Librarian
-
São Paulo (Brazil)
Born in 1987 in Salvador da Bahia, Carine Souza moved to São Paulo with her family as a child. Today she is a qualified librarian with a degree in literature, and she also works as a proof-reader. Whilst searching for her own Black identity her literary interests became increasingly focused on racist stereotype and gender, which ultimately provided the inspiration for “Mulheres Negras na Biblioteca” – a project that aims to encourage more people to read non-white authors.
