Dr. Oluwatoyin Zainab Sogbesan is a cultural historian, art and heritage specialist, architect and museologist. She is particular about proper understanding of meanings and interpretations of cultural artefacts from the African perspective. She is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and a consultant on Museums for European Union Institute for Culture (Nigeria Cluster). She is a guest curator for “Home Museum” - a new content co-creative initiative of the African Artist Foundation focussing on photographic collections from all over the world. She is among the panel of judges for the OpenWalls Arles and Encontros da Imagem Discovery Award 2021. OpenWall Arles is a photography award by 1854 Media focussing on photographic collection on the theme “Then and Now.” Encontros da Imagem is also an international photography and visual arts festival.
