Luciana Brito

Luciana da Cruz Brito is a doctor of history working at the Department of History at the Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia. An expert on the history of slavery and racial relations in Brazil and the United States, she has worked as a visiting scholar at New York, Harvard and Howard Universities and as a guest lecturer at Trinity College. She is the author of Temores da África and numerous articles on slavery, abolition, gender and racial inequality in the diaspora. She is a regular columnist for Nexo Jornal.
