Journalist

A Cairene at heart and a Berliner in practice, Dina Elsayed is a journalist and multimedia producer based in the German capital. She started her journalistic career covering the 2011 uprisings in her native Egypt and her work, which focuses on social and cultural issues, has appeared in various mediums on numerous outlets including NPR, Financial Times, CTV and KCRW Berlin. Before she made Berlin her home, Dina had lived in Osaka, The Hague, Washington, D.C. and York. Currently she’s the senior producer of Common Ground Berlin, a weekly podcast fostering meaningful debate and civil dialogue across both sides of the Atlantic. She also enjoys spending her time in the studios of Berlin’s community radio stations. Dina is passionate about feminist advocacy, bike lanes and soulful architecture. She’s also an avid jazz record collector and a big fan of her rescue cat.
