Ceyda Nurtsch

Ceyda Nurtsch is a freelance journalist and focuses on pluralistic society, politics, human rights, literature and art in Turkey and Germany. The daughter of German-Turkish parents, she grew up between the Rhineland and the Bosporus, studied Islamic and political science and philosophy in Cologne and Bonn, and wrote her PhD thesis on Turkish urban poetry. She works as a journalist for online, radio and TV formats and as a translator both for Turkish and German, publishing and translating for Deutsche Welle, Qantara, ZDF, WDR and Deutschlandradio Kultur, among others. As a presenter, she is booked for political and cultural events with a focus on Turkey.
