Andreas Ströhl

Andreas Ströhl heads the Goethe-Institut in the sub-Saharan Africa region from the Goethe-Institut in Johannesburg. Before that, he headed the institutes in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from Washington D.C. From 2003 to 2011 he was director of the Munich Film Festival. He completed his doctorate with a thesis on Vilém Flusser’s theory of culture.
