Lulu Garcia-Navarro is an audio journalist at the New York Times who was the first Latina to host a flagship show at the US public radio network, NPR. Before hosting Weekend Edition Sunday, she spent two decades on five continents covering conflicts as a radio correspondent. Her prolific work has earned her many prizes, including a Peabody Award, an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Silver Baton Award, a Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize, an Edward R. Murrow Award and The Lowell Thomas Award from the Overseas Press Club.
