The European Union promotes cultural and creative industries through the establishment of a novel instrument, the knowledge and innovation community EIT Culture & Creativity.
This agency, affiliated to the European Institute for Innovation and Technology, was founded on 5 April 2023 as a non-profit association based in Cologne, with the Goethe-Institut joining as a founding member.
The EIT Culture & Creativity is funded by the EU. The funding is primarily channelled into public tenders for art and culture-driven innovation projects.
