"THE CARAVAN PROJECT” consists in the development of a theatre play on the theme of migration using contemporary puppetry and object theatre. An artistic reflection of the situation in Honduras, one of the most important points of departure of migratory caravans, where thousands of Central Americans hoping for a better life start moving northward, affronting in this collective walk the dangers of the route together. First the artists collaborate from different places and angles, gathering after in Tegucigalpa to develop a three short-plays trilogy. The project is a cooperation between Honduran actors from Teatro Taller Tegucigalpa, the German and Austrian puppet players and actresses Esther Falk and Clara Siersch and US playwright Carlos Morton.
Starting the performative “caravan” in Honduras, it will cross Central America and Mexico till the US borders, before finishing in Germany, exchanging with experiences of migration in Europe and people searching for their “north”.
