INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT GRÜNES DIPLOM
Grünes Diplom is for people who are interested in teaching German as a Foreign Language in their home country or at a Goethe-Institut outside Germany.
To qualify for the program, you need a university degree and, unless your first language is German, proven German language skills of at least level B2 with good results. If you meet these basic requirements, qualifications and experience from certain university degrees and relevant teaching experience can be recognized as pre-qualification and shorten the training period.
Phase 1: Job shadowing with information about relevant didactic methods, lesson observation and teaching practice
Phase 2: Advanced course based on the Deutsch Lehren Lernen (DLL) programme
Phase 3: A visit to Germany in connection with a culture-related seminar
Phase 4: Goethe-Institut-specific content (examiner training, online teaching module, culture-related teaching and learning module, C1-level language certificate, if applicable).
During training, trainees complete two 90-minute periods of assessed teaching practice and a knowledge test about the content of Deutsch Lehren Lernen.
The length of training depends on previous qualifications.
