The Famous Techno Marching Band Comes to WOMADelaide
The bass is vibrating, confetti is shimmering, and the red uniforms are popping in the strobe light. With its explosive mix of hypnotic driving techno and expressive brass band music, the techno marching band MEUTE has been creating a big buzz across continents since 2016.
The eleven musicians from Hamburg in their iconic red jackets love to break the rules and defy boundaries. What started as a small experiment on the streets of the district of St.Pauli quickly became a globally acclaimed phenomenon and led to joint performances with artists such as Laurent Garnier, Stephan Bodzin, Flume and Marc Rebillet.
The band revolutionises techno music and redefines the concept of brass bands using acoustic instruments only. It provides for viral hits, sold-out clubs, and real electronic frenzy. Enjoy the bliss of a colourful, thrilling experience that will get every one of you onto the dancefloor.
After their premiere at Coachella 2022 and a Northern hemisphere Summer festival season full of unforgettable energy, MEUTE have now released their third studio album TAUMEL. Thanks to an intensive creative period, the band has heaps of new tunes in the bag: both original compositions such as Peace, Slow Loris and Ticino as well as reworks of artists like Ben B.hmer, Deadmau5 and Maceo Plex.
Another highlight quickly followed: MEUTE is part of the fourth season of hit Netflix show Babylon Berlin and shows how techno raves would have sounded in the 1930s.
“…working the dance floor into a fervor wild enough to alter the club’s climate.” Billboard
“….every appearance causes euphoria.” Libération (France)
