Film Screenings + Q&A Sessions
The Jewish International Film Festival is one of the longest running film festivals in Australia. This year it presents 65 films from across the globe including numerous German movies such as
Bye Bye Germany and
Hanna's Sleeping Dogs that celebrate the diversity of Jewish culture and storytelling.
The Goethe-Institut supports the screenings of
Moritz Daniel Oppenheim: the First Jewish Painter and the visit of its director, Isabel Gathof, in Sydney and Melbourne. This movie documents the traces of Moritz Daniel Oppenheim, icon of the Jewish emancipation in Germany and his impact as the first Jewish painter of the modern era across Germany, France and Israel. Young filmmaker Isabel Gathof will attend Q&A sessions after two of the follwing screenings:
